Moderated by Brian Lowry, media columnist for
Variety, this Paley Center seminar is a conversation with television writer/creator and producer/director David Milch.
In 1982 Milch wrote an episode of Hill Street Blues, his first attempt at television writing. It earned him an Emmy Award, a Humanitas Prize, and a full-time position on the series' writing staff. He has gone on to write for such shows as NYPD Blue, Murder One, Deadwood, and more. Among topics discussed are Milch's slow writing process, how working at HBO compares to other networks, his career turns, and his creative storytelling process.
